The “OASI eco-residenze Le Cure” project (OASI eco-residences at Le Cure, Florence) arose out of the idea that inhabiting a space is not just about occupying it; it is about selecting the best place in which to live – the place that allows you to say ”I’m home”…at home in the place that you dreamt of and yearned to find.

This is what Oasi is all about: combining the beauty and value of the historic complex with the finest, most hi-tech solutions in terms of energy, innovation and materials. The extensive grounds, for the exclusive use of residents, complete a package that has been designed to offer the very highest quality of living.

THE PROPERTY

the beauty of the 15th century, the technology of the 21st.

The property is part of a complex that dates from the 15th century. It was created by Florentine nobles, the Baroni Ricasoli family, before being expanded in the mid-19th century with a delightful portico that faces out over the grounds, along with the church on Via della Piazzuola. The expansion was carried out by the new owners, the Teresa Verzeri Congregation of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart, who used the entire complex as a residence for the nuns until 2006.

THE “LE CURE” DISTRICT

Between the hillsides of Fiesole and the historical centre of Florence.

The district of Florence known as “Le Cure” is located to the north of the historical centre and was designed by Giuseppe Poggi, one of the architects who exerted the greatest influence on the look of modern Florence, and who had a particularly strong input into the area at the foot of the hillsides of Fiesole. The “Le Cure” district is strategically located between the hillsides of Fiesole and the historical centre of the city, meaning that it is awash with landscaped areas – one of the largest of which is the Pettini Burresi area – but also that it is very well-served with amenities, playing host as it does to the permanent “Cure” market, which is one of the most well-known and most popular markets in Florence, and which will be subject to a major urban regeneration project (recently given its definitive approval by the city council).

THE PROJECT

The enchantment of the Renaissance in a contemporary context

Giving a new lease of life to the historic beauty of the Neo-Renaissance buildings and imbuing the new residences sited there with a contemporary feel, without compromise to their original values – this was the task that the group of architects selected by Spagnoli set for themselves.

THE GROUNDS

“If you have a library and a garden, you have everything you need” (Cicero).

The grounds of the complex cover an area of 2,350m2. Entirely surrounded by high stone walls and almost invisible from the outside, they are reserved exclusively for use by residents and serve as a bona fide green “lung” for the OASI households.
